Breadth Requirements for the Bachelor of Science

  1. Students will complete a breadth component of 75 points (six subjects).
  2. Students must take between 12.5 points and 37.5 points as breadth at the 100-Level.
  3. It is possible for one or two 37.5 point (three subject) sequences or clusters of breadth study to be taken. Students may also take all of their 75 points of breadth in one breadth discipline (e.g.: languages or music).
  4. Students must complete at least one 300 level breadth subject which will, in many cases, require prerequisite 100 and 200 level study.

Breadth Subjects Available for BSc Students:

In summary, subjects that may contribute to a student’s BSc breadth study will be subjects that contrast with the science, technology and Engineering Systems subjects, or integrate these studies with the humanities and social sciences so that the subject encompasses a much broader arena of knowledge and skills rather than being science-focussed (e.g. University breadth subjects).
