Exercises in film production practice collaboration, appreciation of essential film production craft skills,
basic screen language exercises, understanding of industry facilitation via fieldwork.
Intended learning outcomes
Subject aims to bring understanding of essential craft aspects of filmmaking into perspective for careerchange students as well as those from undergraduate media courses, and to gain general student selfawareness regarding approaching practical managerial and organisational aspects of producing and establishing themselves as functional and participatory members of wider school cohort.
Generic skills
Ability to communicate and work within a brief, value protocols of collaboration, broad understanding of
technical and organisational challenges.

Student report (2,500 words) on attachment to BFA Film and Television Level 2 or Masters of Film and Television (Narrative) Level 1 projects, as production assistant or
similar role. Week 6 - 50%
Demonstration of collaborative skills in small group filmmaking exercise (against pre-set collaboration goals)
(eqv 2,500 words). Week 12 - 50%
