This subject will examine contemporary garden design and design practice in Australia. Content will include investigation of design approaches and methods, introduction to graphic techniques, types of design drawings and documentation for design. Students will be required to design for a site, interact with a client , develop a design brief and graphically communicate a concept design solution
Intended learning outcomes
On Completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Describe contemporary garden design discourse;
- Demonstrate knowledge of the design process through use of relevant documentation
- Explore design solutions for a landscape site;
- Discuss different graphic communication techniques; and
- Research and manage complex information for design purposes.
Generic skills
- Produce landscape concept design for a site ;
- Communicate with a client and to handle a design brief;
- Present plans and drawings to an appropriate using correct techniques; and
- Demonstrate good oral communication skills.
