In this subject students are able to further extend technical and creative knowledge through studio-based design projects.
Students may also have the opportunity to be assigned to placements on productions mounted either within or beyond the Victorian College of the Arts. The placements introduce the student to the complexity of the production process in areas that they may not be familiar with and to the collaborative nature of the work within the different fields of performance.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject students should be able to
- Utilise a variety of design documentation techniques
- Select and apply appropriate techniques for the communication of design concepts
- Select and apply appropriate techniques for the documentation and communication of finalised designs
- Understand the industry standards for design documentation
Generic skills
On completion of the subject students should have developed
• The ability to be organised and methodical in their approach to documenting a design concept
• The ability to communicate effectively through visual and verbal means
• The ability to present their ideas professionally
