Students should gain thorough knowledge of all aspects of regional and systemic anatomy. In particular, students will learn the surgical relevance of all structures studied, common variations and surgical and procedural approaches to each organ or structure.
Tuition over the 18 week period involves lecture/tutorials and practical sessions (including specimen workshops and cadaver dissection) totalling 160 contact hours. There is also opportunity for additional independent dissection if desired.
Intended learning outcomes
On successfully completing this subject students should:
- Have developed a thorough knowledge of all aspects of regional and systemic anatomy; and
- Understand the surgical relevance of all structures studies, common variations and surgical and procedural approaches to each organ or stucture.
