- Registration (online, via the LMS) of a project topic and supervisor, due at the end of week 1 hours (hurdle requirement).
- A detailed project proposal of 800-1000 words, due at the end of week 2, requiring approximately 25-30 hours, submitted to the project supervisor (hurdle requirement).
- One 15 minute presentation, including answering audience questions, of the work or demonstration of a working system, requiring approximately 25-30 hours of work, given in week 12 (10%).
- A 6,000-8,000 word research report, due in the first week of the examination period, requiring approximately 320 hours of work (90%).
- Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) 1 and 2, and generic skills 1, 2 and 3 are addressed as part of the supervision process. Generic skill 4 is addressed by the final report, and skill 5 is assessed by the final presentation.
