In project 2 students undertake a creative development process. The conceptualisation, planning and exploration of a new performance/installation/event is presented as a work in progress with critical evaluation and discussion with artistic peers. The practical exploration of ideas and concepts. The development of appropriate work plans, rehearsal processes, design approaches and resource frameworks. Attention is given to locating and articulating the student’s own practice within the field and the current questions and/or conceptual framework to be creatively investigated and applied, while identifying appropriate, relevant source material from a range of starting points to continue the foundations of a practice-led research approach which will culminate in Project 3.
Intended learning outcomes
On completing this subject students will:
- Develop the ability to conceptualise and develop new work
- Develop the capacity to give form to performance concepts
- Develop the ability to critically evaluate work in progress and respond constructively
- Develop the ability to contextualise personal artistic practice within relevant fields
- Develop the ability to articulate strengths and weaknesses in a new work in progress
- Develop the capacity to develop strategies in response to critical perceptions
- Develop the ability to manage all aspects of a developmental project including resources
