In this subject, students are introduced to the skills and knowledge needed to undertake production management roles in the performing arts industry. Particular focus will be on high-level organisation processes and the generation of industry standard paperwork.
Included in this will be the principles of creating and running a production schedule and project budget as well as undertaking a project-level risk assessment. This subject prepares students to undertake management roles on VCA productions in their final year of study.
Intended learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject students should be able to:
- Develop a production schedule for a given production
- Develop a risk assessment for a given production
- Develop and run a production budget
- Assess the required resources need for a production
