This subject is delivered every two years and commences with a two-week study abroad period taught intensively on location either in Prague at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space or in the international location of World Stage Design held in a different city each festival.
These events are run two years apart from each other and are the most significant international festivals focusing on design and production for live performance.
Students participate in events showcasing current practice and emerging trends in the field including exhibitions, workshops, keynote lectures, discussions and performances to gain a deep and diverse insight into design and production for performance on the highest international level.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- engage with workshops, discussions, lectures and exhibitions in a thoughtful and organised manner;
- articulate selected aspects of current practice in design or production for live performance in one or more international locations;
- articulate own artistic position/place as a designer, technician or stage manager in the global context.
