For Masters students and PhD students outside economics the assessment is as follows:
- 4 class assignments in computer code totalling a minimum of 40 hours work (10 hours/assignment)
Assignment 1 – week 3
Assignment 2 – week 5
Assignment 3 – week 9
Assignment 4 – week 12 (total 40%) - 180 minute end-of-semester exam (60%)
For PhD students in economics the assessment is as follows:
- 4 class assignments in computer code totalling a minimum of 40 hours work (10 hours/assignment)
Assignment 1 – week 3
Assignment 2 – week 5
Assignment 3 – week 9
Assignment 4 – week 12 (total 40%) - 1 within-semester 1-hour paper presentation (3 hours) To take place between weeks 6-12 (15%)
- 1 within-semester research article referee report (3 hours) Due week 12 (15%)
- 1 within-semester independent model coding and estimation project (10 hours) Due week 12 (30%)
Note: Successful completion of this subject requires a pass (50%) in the final exam.
