Students propose and carry out an investigation aimed at gaining an understanding of designing in their specialist area: Live performance or screen-based media.
Students are encouraged to undertake a project that enables them to focus on current practices within the field of designing for stage or screen. The investigation may include an internship on a professional production if this aligns with the desired outcomes of the project.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject students should be able to
- Propose an investigative project
- Identify sources of information relevant to designing for stage or screen
- Engage with professional designers for stage or screen for the purposes of gaining insight into this field
- Present findings clearly and concisely
Generic skills
On completion of the subject students should have developed
- The ability to perform research and analyse their findings
- The ability to articulate and pass on the findings of their investigation
- A solid understanding of the field of designing for screen
