This subject will examine the role of genomics and precision medicine in gene-based therapies.

Module 1 will focus on emerging treatments for cancer, with Module 2 exploring the role of emerging technologies in the diagnosis and treatment in genomic medicine.

Intended learning outcomes

At the completion of this subject, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an ability to interpret human genomic information in a clinical setting
  • Discuss the value of genomic testing in management of disease
  • Illustrate the relevance and utility of advances in technology to a particular healthcare setting
