This module aims to help students prepare a scholarly report of their proposed applied research project. Under the supervision of a member of the faculty, students will make appropriate modifications to the planned design, complete data collection and analyses, and prepare draft reports. Students will also receive comments and feedback from other faculty, clinical supervisors and peer students. Students then present their completed research projects orally and submit the final draft of the report as a thesis of up to 15,000 words in APA style for examination.
Intended learning outcomes
- To ensure students receive a thorough grounding in research design and report writing to a publishable standard
- To facilitate understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice and outcome research
- To understand principles of measurement and the complexity of data collection and analysis
