In consultation with a research supervisor, students will formulate a research question and then submit a research proposal and literature review, on a selected area of interest in radiology.
Undertaking this subject provides an opportunity for students to define a research question and identify an appropriate methodology and demonstrate critical thinking reflecting breadth and depth of knowledge in clinical research. Student will also be encouraged to submit an ethics proposal during this subject where needed, based on their research proposal.
Intended learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject candidates will be able to:
- Formulate a clear and coherent research question related to an area of interest in radiology
- Produce a research proposal that incorporates appropriate qualitative or quantitative research methods
- Develop a comprehensive literature search strategy and analysis of the relevant radiology literature
- Demonstrate an ability to adhere to ethical and regulatory process required for the conduct of a clinical research project
