The Graduate Certificate in IT Management (Executive) is an online coursework degree (50 credit points).
The program covers areas of critical important to aspiring C-suite executives (i.e. Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, and Chief Security Officers) in information systems management and digital business. Areas include IT Strategy, Emerging Technologies, Information Assurance, and Outsourcing & Contracting. Students will develop a strong capability in supporting, management and changing business processes through information and communications technology (ICT).
Entry requirements
1. In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
- An undergraduate degree in an IT-related discipline; and
- 5 years of documented experience in IT-related work;
OR
- At least 8 years of documented experience in IT-related work;
AND
- a personal statement; and
- one referee report.
Meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection.
2. In ranking applications, the Selection Committee will consider:
- prior academic performance; and
- the work experience; and
- the personal statement; and
- the referee report
3. The Selection Committee may seek further information to clarify any aspect of an application in accordance with the Academic Board rules on the use of selection instruments.
4. Applicants are required to satisfy the university’s English language requirements for graduate courses. For those applicants seeking to meet these requirements by one of the standard tests approved by the academic board, candidates must achieve the equivalent of an English Language capability of a minimum standard of IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.5 for Reading, Writing and Listening and a minimum of 6.0 for Speaking.

The Graduate Certificate of IT Management (Executive) welcomes applications from students with disabilities. The Graduate Certificate of IT Management (Executive) requires all students to enrol in subjects where they will require:

c) the ability to actively and safely contribute in online activities.
Students must possess behavioural and social attributes that enable them to participate in a complex learning environment. They also contribute to the learning of other students in collaborative learning environments, demonstrating interpersonal skills and an understanding of the needs of other students. Assessment may include the outcomes of tasks completed in collaboration with other students. There may be additional inherent academic requirements for some subjects, and these requirements are listed within the description of the requirements for each of these subjects.

Intended learning outcomes
The Graduate Certificate in IT Management (Executive) is designed to meet academic expectations set at an Australian qualification framework (AQF) standard level 9. The course level learning outcomes are designed to meet these standards
A graduate of the Graduate Certificate in IT Management (Executive) should:
- Have developed a sound knowledge and understanding of the management practice of Information Systems in organisations.
- Have developed and applied skills in critical thinking and systems analysis suited to the application of Information Systems concepts and theories to real-world practice.
- Have developed and applied skills related to business communication, interpersonal, and team skills suited to the application of Information Systems concepts and theories to real-world practice.
- Have gained experience in identifying, understanding, evaluating and communicating strategic and operational issues in the real-world practice of Information Systems.
- Can demonstrate an understanding of professional codes of conduct and ethical standards as they apply to business practice.
Generic skills
- Have the ability to demonstrate advanced independent critical enquiry, analysis and reflection.
