The Leadership Project, as part of the Professional Certificate in Frontline Leadership, is designed to offer significant practical learning opportunities for a diverse range of early career professionals seeking to extend their leadership skills and knowledge. It is also suitable for emerging leaders, or those who have been promoted, or seek promotion and wish to develop their leadership capabilities to complement their technical knowledge and expertise, in order to get the most out of themselves, their teams, and for their organisation.
Following the Leadership Skills subject, in the Leadership Project, participants will extend their development by applying more advanced capabilities and skills in order to foster leadership within complex organisational environments and systems. Drawing on theories and empirical evidence, students will devise plans and solutions to overcome a complex leadership challenge of their own choice.
Participants will also undertake a systematic assessment of the challenge itself, articulate their plan and rationale for action, and review and reflect on the intended and unintended consequences of their actions. This systematic approach supports development of critical thinking and strategic decision making skills, and enhance self-knowledge and personal development.
This subject includes support from academic and industry experts, leadership tools and frameworks, contemporary readings and resources, and facilitated group discussions.
