This subject is the capstone of all subjects undertaken thus far within the Master of Mental Health Science.
This subject requires students to synthesis their research skills by implementing the research proposal developed in Mental Health Science Minor Thesis 1, and conducting all stages of a research project, culminating in a substantial research report.
Intended learning outcomes
The subject provides the opportunity to undertake all the components required for critical research,
from following conception of a research question,
obtaining ethics approval (where applicable),
conducting data collection, analysing and interpreting data,
critically discussing the implications of the findings,
appraising relevant literature, and
producing a research report.
Collect and organise data for interpretation according to the defined methods of the research proposal
Critically analyse the data
Appraise the implications of the data analysis and formulate appropriate conclusions
Present the findings within the protocols of a research report (no more than 20,000 words) including the critical appraisal of relevant research literature
