Master of International Business (MC-IB) // Notes
Graduates of the Master of International Business can progress to an advanced Master’s program with a research component if they wish to seek admission to a PhD.
Duration
Part-time, full-time and accelerated study plan options:
The 200 point study plan can be completed in 18 to 24 months of full-time study.
- Full-time students take four subjects per standard semester for four semesters (approximately 2 years) and may opt to take additional subjects in summer and winter semesters to reduce the duration of their program.
- Part-time students usually enrol in one or two subjects per semester.
The 150 point study plan can be completed in 12 to 18 months of full-time study.
- Full-time students take four subjects per standard semester for three semesters (approximately 1.5 years) and may opt to take additional subjects in summer and winter semesters to reduce the duration of their program.
- Part-time students usually enrol in one or two subjects per semester.
Graduate Certificate in International Business
Students enrolled in the Master of International Business program who are either unable, or who choose not to continue with their studies, may be eligible to exit with a Graduate Certificate in International Business.
- Master of International Business students enrolled in the 200 point program who wish to exit with the Graduate Certificate must complete 100 points of Master of International Business subjects.
- Master of International Business students with cognate backgrounds who are following the 150 point study plan and wish to exit with the Graduate Certificate must complete 50 points of Master of International Business subjects.
Graduate Diploma in International Business
Students enrolled in the Master of International Business program who are either unable, or who choose not to continue with their studies, may be eligible to exit with a Graduate Diploma in International Business.
- Master of International Business students enrolled in the 200 point program who wish to exit with the Graduate Diploma must complete 150 points of Master of International Business subjects.
- Master of International Business students with cognate backgrounds who are following the 150 point study plan and wish to exit with the Graduate Diploma must complete 100 points of Master of International Business subjects
Master of International Relations (MC-IR)
Students who have completed the Master of International Relations (MIR) program in the Faculty of Arts with a WAM (weighted average mark) of 70% will be eligible to enrol into and receive up to 100 points of credit towards the Master of International Business (MIB) program in the Faculty of Business and Economics. Upon successful completion of 100 points of specified subjects from the MIB program**, MIR students will be awarded the MIB degree. **MIR students will need to complete 100 points of MIB subjects, comprised of the following subjects:

Students who have completed any of the required MIB subjects specified above as part of the MIR may be eligible for non-credit exemptions and would undertake alternative subjects from the Faculty of Business and Economics.
