This subject will provide students with a capstone experience of independently designing and implementing a creative arts therapies program and receiving feedback to inform continual development.
Students will develop expertise in integrating theory, research, and methods into a novel practice context. They will be able to insightfully represent the creative arts therapies within the team and highlight how their professional skills can be used to address needs of individuals and groups, as well as address barriers and opportunities in diverse contexts.
Students will develop a capacity for self-reflection on their role with individuals and groups and within the workplace and the broader social context.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- identify, analyse, justify and apply contemporary, relevant theories to various contexts in professional practice;
- self-reflect on professional relationships with others, in the workplace and social context;
- explain how the creative arts can address barriers and opportunities in diverse contexts;
- design and implement a creative arts therapy program in a novel context;
- reflect deeply on power, privilege and oppressive dynamics in diverse workplaces.
