This subject further develops students’ capabilities in animation production acquired in Animation Studio 1A and Writing Animation 1. This includes an embedded introductory programme in the fundamentals of digital 3D. Students undertake all stages of pre-production, production and post-production to create an animated short film to a prescribed length. Students will create a folio of digital 3D animated sequences that explore 3D sculpting and motion.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- create an animated film with synchronised picture and audio;
- apply creative and technical animation skills and knowledge;
- implement fundamental animation production management skills;
- demonstrate core capabilities with digital animation tools;
- extend knowledge in animation by exploring new and emerging resources;
- critique, evaluate and apply feedback to reflect on animation productions.
