Overview
Intended learning outcomes
Upon completion of this specialisation, students should be able to:
- select suitable analytics techniques for real-world education practice issues and demonstrate an advanced understanding of the complexities of sourcing, interpreting and evaluating the information obtained for an evidence-based solution with implications for education practice
- synthesize and evaluate the complex factors involved in applying analytics solutions to new contexts in education, including different interpretations of unstructured evidence and multiple alternative approaches
- judiciously apply research principles and methods, as well as autonomy, expert judgement and flexibility, to create bespoke analytics approaches to different educational scenarios and effectively disseminate research outcomes to a variety of audiences
- identify and critically assess the strategic and operational issues involved in real-world practice of analytics in education and communicate suggestions for improving both the relevance of data that is collected, as well as compliance with current/future privacy requirements
- create a plan and a design for integrating analytics concepts and theories to real-world practice in education for completion by different members of an analytics team
- identify potential ethical issues in applying analytics to education practice and suggest remedies that comply with the relevant professional code/s of conduct.
