Overview
Intended learning outcomes
Upon completion of this specialisation, students should be able to:
- select suitable analytics techniques for real-world health practice issues and demonstrate an advanced understanding of the complex data collection, measurement, management and other factors involved in developing evidence-based solutions that make substantial contributions to practice
- judiciously apply research principles and methods, as well as autonomy, expert judgement and flexibility, to create suitable analytics approaches for real-world health issues and effectively disseminate research outcomes to a variety of audiences
- create a plan and a design for an analytics solution to address a practical health problem, using statistical software (including data mining), for completion by different members of an analytics team
- accurately assess the issues involved in practical problems in health-related settings and propose and implement an appropriate statistical tool that complies with current/future privacy requirements
- synthesize and evaluate the complex factors involved in applying analytics to practical problems in health-related settings, including different interpretations of unstructured evidence and multiple alternative approaches.
