Overview
Please note that PD-ARTS Postgraduate Diploma in Arts will no longer be accepting new applications as of the 1st January 2015, the program from 2015 will be offered as GDA-ARTS Graduate Diploma in Arts (Advanced). Please refer to the correct handbook entry for program information for commencing students from 2015.
The Postgraduate Diploma program in French comprises advanced coursework on French language, literature, culture and cinema taught in French and a research thesis to extend students’ knowledge and skills in understanding French language and culture. After successfully completing the program, students will have gained considerable practical skills such as research skills, report writing skills, language skills and international and cultural awareness.
Intended learning outcomes
Students who complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in this area of specialisation should:
- achieve fluency in spoken French in a variety of registers;
- acquire advanced writing skills and be able to express abstract concepts in French;
- develop an understanding of a number of areas of Francophone literature, culture and/or linguistics, and be able to reflect critically on them.
