Unit 1 - Essentials of Clinical Practice - (27% of total subject assessment)
- Four on-line quizzes on diagnostic imaging, scheduled during Semester 1, each equally weighted (5% of unit mark)
- Up to five formative on-line quizzes of unit practicals, scheduled during Semester 1, each equally weighted (20% of unit mark)
- A 2-hour written examination, scheduled in Week 7 of Semester 1 (75% of unit mark)
Unit 2 - Dogs and Cats - (28% of total subject assessment)
- A 90 minute written examination of all topics covered in Blocks 2 and 3, scheduled in Week 9 or 10 of Semester 1 (40% of unit mark)
- A 2-hour written examination of all topics covered in Blocks 4 and 5, held in the Semester 1 examination period (60% of unit mark)
Unit 3 - Horses - (14% of total subject assessment)
- A 2-hour written examination held in the Semester 1 examination period (100% of unit mark)
Unit 4 - Cattle - (10% of total subject assessment)
- A 2-hour written examination held in the Semester 1 examination period (100% of unit mark)
Unit 5 - Small Ruminants - (9% of total subject assessment)
- A 2-hour written examination held in the Semester 1 examination period (100% of unit mark)
Unit 6 - Poultry and Aviary Birds - (12% of total subject assessment)
- A 10-minute oral practical examination, scheduled in Week 13 of Semester 1 (20% of unit mark)
- A 2-hour written examination held in the Semester 1 examination period (80% of unit mark)
Hurdle Requirements:
Students are required to pass the subject on aggregate mark.
The passing of each unit on aggregate mark is a hurdle.
To be eligible to pass the subject and its six units, a student must:
- achieve a minimum mark of 40% in the written examination in Unit 1 (Essentials of Clinical Practice) held in Week 7 of Semester 1
- achieve a minimum mark of 50% in each of the four on-line quizzes on diagnostic imaging in Unit 1 (Essentials of Clinical Practice)
- achieve a minimum mark of 40% in the written examinations in Unit 2 (Dogs and Cats) and Unit 6 (Poultry and Aviary Birds) held in the Semester 1 examination period
- achieve a minimum mark of 50% in the written examinations in Unit 3 (Horses), Unit 4 (Cattle) and Unit 5 (Small Ruminants) held in the Semester 1 examination period, and
- complete the oral practical examination in Unit 6 (Poultry and Aviary Birds) satisfactorily.
Students must attend a minimum of 90% of all practical classes in this subject.
