Unit 1 - Essentials of Clinical Practice - (11% of total subject assessment)

• Up to five on-line assessments of practical classes, to be completed during Semester 2, each equally weighted (20% of unit mark)
• A 1-hour written examination held in the Semester 2 examination period (80% of unit mark)

Unit 2 - Dogs and Cats - (37% of total subject assessment)

• A 2-hour written examination of all topics covered in Blocks 7, 8 and 9, scheduled in Week 9 or 10 of Semester 2 (50% of unit mark)
• A 2-hour written examination of all topics covered in Blocks 10, 11, 12 and 13, held in the Semester 2 examination period (50% of unit mark)

Unit 3 - Horses - (8% of total subject assessment)

• A 15-minute practical examination, scheduled during Semester 2 (20% of unit mark)
• A 2-hour written examination held in the Semester 2 examination period (80% of unit mark)

Unit 4 - Cattle - (17% of total subject assessment)

• A 2-hour written examination held in the Semester 2 examination period (100% of unit mark)

Unit 5 - Small Ruminants - (12% of total subject assessment)

• A 2-hour written examination held in the Semester 2 examination period (100% of unit mark)

Unit 6 - Pigs - (7% of total subject assessment)

• A group presentation, scheduled during Semester 2 (10% of unit mark)
• A 1.5-hour written examination held in the Semester 2 examination period (90% of unit mark)

Unit 7 - Wildlife, Aquaculture and Exotics - (8% of total subject assessment)

• A 1.5-hour written examination held in the Semester 2 examination period (100% of unit mark)

Hurdle Requirements:

Students are required to pass the subject on aggregate mark.

The passing of each unit on aggregate mark is a hurdle.

To be eligible to pass the subject and its seven units, a student must:

• achieve a minimum mark of 40% in the written examinations in Unit 1 (Essentials of Clinical Practice) and Unit 2 (Dogs and Cats) scheduled in the Semester 2 examination period
• achieve a minimum mark of 50% in the written examinations in Unit 3 (Horses), Unit 4 (Cattle), Unit 5 (Small Ruminants), Unit 6 (Pigs) and Unit 7 (Wildlife, Aquaculture and Exotics) scheduled in the Semester 2 examination period, and
• complete the practical examination in Unit 3 (Horses) satisfactorily.

Students must attend a minimum of 90% of all practical classes in the subject.

Students must attend and contribute to the group presentations in Unit 6 (Pigs).
