Front line managers play a crucial role in strategy implementation and communication. This subject explores the typical rationales for strategic choices and the common drivers of organisational performance, how strategy is translated into action within workplace, and the role of frontline managers in influencing strategic change. A variety of common and innovative strategy tools are introduced. Examples of emergent and workplace level strategic change are explored.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- An understanding of the importance of strategy for the success of organisations.
- The ability to apply their knowledge and understanding to analysing strategic challenges faced by organisations.
- The ability to use this knowledge and understanding to develop practical solutions to management problems faced by organisations.
- The knowledge and skills to know how to make a strategically sound decision.
