This subject provides an introduction to instrumental and vocal teaching with a focus on aural learning and encouraging creativity. It will look at the selection of appropriate materials for early years teaching and examine a range of pedagogical approaches that could be used in a variety of teaching settings.
Through teaching a series of six beginner lessons to a classmate (from a different instrumental background), students will gain experience in lesson planning and delivery while developing skills in reflective practice and evaluation.
The final assessment will be a demonstration lesson.
Delivery
This subject is co-delivered with MUSI30286 Introduction to Instrumental Teaching.
