This elective subject offers an immersive study abroad experience covering all three disciplines of Musical Theatre, Singing, Acting and Dancing with industry professionals. Travelling to one of the world’s leading cities for music theatre performance, students will engage in a daily program of specialist studio-based workshops and classes.
Students will have the opportunity to see a diverse range of the world’s best performance work. Working with international guest teachers, this subject will focus on the continuing high-level development of technically proficient, integrated and performance-ready skills in acting, singing and dance as students prepare for entry into the industry.
Students will be assessed on dance skills performance, a masterclass performance, a performance project and a reflection report.
Overseas Travel
In this subject, students will engage in an intensive study abroad experience and costs in addition to tuition fees may be incurred. Students may be eligible for financial assistance, or the Overseas Help Loan (OS-HELP Loans).
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- apply proficiency, professionalism, and a commitment to the application of acting, singing, and dancing;
- critically reflect and evaluate independent practice and performance;
- compare and contrast local and international expectations and practices of music theatre training and performance;
- draw upon international perspective to enhance and perform acting, singing, and dancing in a music theatre context.
