Intended learning outcomes

On completion of this specialisation, students should be able to:

  • Discuss a wide range of current issues in Japanese
  • Appreciate language styles and major points of selected readings in Japanese
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Japan and contemporary Japanese society
  • Write a thesis of 15,000 words, comparable with that appropriate to an Honours degree.
