Intended learning outcomes

On completion of this specialisation, students should be able to:

  • Complete the equivalent of fourth year honours with a research component and obtain a recognised qualification
  • Obtain an adequate basis for pursuing advanced studies in public policy at masters or PhD level
  • Develop a specialist understanding of specific areas of study, showing an understanding of the latest research directions
  • Develop a capacity for an advanced level of analysis in relation to the specific issues in public policy.

Duration: 1 year full-time / 2 years part-time

The Graduate Diploma in Arts (Advanced) in this area of specialisation requires total 100 points:

  • Compulsory subjects (25 points)
  • Thesis subjects (37.5 points)
  • Elective subjects (37.5 points)

 

Please note: Students must enrol in the thesis PPMN40006 Public Policy & Management Thesis Part 1 and PPMN40007 Public Policy & Management Thesis Part 2 over two consecutive semesters
