Overview
Intended learning outcomes
In addition to the learning outcomes of the Master of Civil Engineering listed, students should:
- Solve problems and conduct analysis in advanced transport engineering topics including transport modelling and simulation, freight systems and models, data analysis, statistics and econometrics, traffic flow theory, roadway geometric design, public transport system planning and operations, intelligent transport systems, traffic operations and management, concepts of transport accessibility, efficiency, sustainability, and equity;
- Develop basic travel demand forecasting models, transport network models, and freight models at the operational, tactical and strategic levels;
- Design public transport network and service plan, roadway geometric specification, and traffic signal plans;
- Evaluate transport and freight projects and initiatives, and perform triple-bottom-line analysis and make recommendations to improve sustainability and safety objectives of transport and freight systems;
- Develop research principles and methods in the field of transport engineering.
