Overview
Students must complete the following 4 subjects to get the specialisation:
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this specialisation, graduates will:
- be able to apply mechanical and manufacturing engineering knowledge, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, materials, dynamics, control, manufacturing, design, manufacturing processes and automation, operation and management, quality and reliability, to analyse, evaluate and design, and also to diagnose, trouble shoot and solve problems in complex engineering systems;
- be able to identify and appraise current developments in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, interpret and apply advanced technical knowledge or research literature to inform engineering application in an interdisciplinary context;

Structure
50 credit points
The Manufacturing specialisation is completed by undertaking four specific subjects (50 credit points).
Note: Students entering the course with advanced standing who plan on completing a specialisation may need to enrol in core specialisation subjects in their commencing semester. Please check and follow the structure outlined for your intended specialisation and seek course planning advice.
To obtain a specialisation in Manufacturing, students must complete:
- 50 credit points of Year 3 core Manufacturing specialisation subjects
- A minimum of 25 credit points of Group A electives if undertaking this specialisation
