The Specialist Certificate in Registered Nurse Prescribing is a program of study leading to endorsement as a designated registered nurse prescriber. The program learning outcomes, curriculum and assessments are designed to prepare graduates to extend their practice to include prescription of scheduled medicines within their scope of practice and in accordance with legislation, regulation and professional standards. This program is comprised of two units of study completed over one semester which are delivered by a multidisciplinary team of experienced nurses, pharmacologists and pharmacists. Following completion of this program students will meet the education criteria for entry on the Australian Health Practitioner Register with an endorsement for scheduled medicines - designated registered nurse prescriber.
This program of study is not yet accredited by ANMAC or approved by the NMBA and will only accept enrolments once this accreditation and approval has been granted.
