This subject covers selected issues in contemporary metaphysics. We'll spend the first half of the subject looking at various tools within the metaphysicians toolbox, e.g., ontology, possibility, necessity, the nature of objects). We'll spend the later half of the subject looking at various ways these tools have been combined to create over-arching metaphysical systems, e.g., Kantian metaphysics, Indigenous Australian Metaphysics, the metaphysical systems of various religions, etc. Students will be given the opportunity to construct their own metaphysical system using the tools learned about and reflecting on the examples discussed.
