Overview
The Honours program in Korean Studies comprises advanced coursework and an individual research project (Korean Studies Thesis) designed to extend students' knowledge of Korean language, culture, and society, or another appropriate area in Korean Studies, while developing their research skills. After successfully completing the program, students will be able to enrol for further research study towards a Master of Arts (MA) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this specialisation, students should be able to:
- Communicate in and comprehend Korean in a range of written and oral genres and social contexts
- Apply advanced knowledge of Korean language and of Korean culture and society in relevant professional and academic contexts
- Utilise rigorous methods of inquiry and theories and methodologies appropriate to Korean Studies
- Construct and sustain an argument based on research.

Students undertaking pure honours in Korean Studies must complete:
- 100 credit points of compulsory subjects
