Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this course, graduates should be able to:
- Critically evaluate the impact of core human resource functions such as recruitment, selection, training, and development on employee behaviours and organizational performance.
- Critically analyse and solve human resource management problems utilising appropriate theories and models
- Evaluate the role of the external environmental, cultural, and organizational factors, on human resource management strategies
- Use practical, research-based insights to enhance recruitment, selection, development, and compensation strategies in organizations
- Analyse complex organisational and employee level data to develop human resources policies and recommendations
- Leverage artificial intelligence and digital tools to enhance human resource decision-making and processes.
Generic skills
On successful completion of this degree, graduates should have enhanced their skills in:
- Critical evaluation of evidence in support of an argument or proposition
- Problem solving in management, through the synthesis and application of appropriate theories, principles, ethical and legal frameworks, and data
- Communication of human resources concepts, theories and solutions to peers and the wider community
- Conducting research, including the retrieval of information from a variety of sources
- Collaboration for group-based work and activities, including in diverse and multicultural contexts
- Interpretation and communication of research results to specialist and non-specialist audiences
