Intended learning outcomes

On successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:

  • Identify and assess appropriate topics for independent study within the fields of English and Theatre Studies
  • Apply field-specific skills in scholarly and critical analysis and inquiry to the study of texts, practices, and objects
  • Demonstrate in writing advanced understanding of a specific area or methodology in English and Theatre Studies
  • Conceive and complete an innovative, original, and rigorous independent research project
