Structure
75 credit points
Students will have their appropriate entry point determined by the Arabic Studies program, based on evidence of prior learning and/or results of a placement test as required. Please refer to the following link for further information:
The entry points for this major are:
- Arabic Studies Entry Point 1: for students who have very little or no knowledge of Arabic.
- Arabic Studies Entry Point 3: for students who have lower intermediate level of Arabic.
To obtain a major in Arabic Studies, students must complete either:
Entry Point 1
- 37.5 credit points of Level 2 major core subjects
- 25 credit points of Level 3 major core subjects
- 12.5 credit points of capstone subject
OR
Entry Point 3
- 37.5 credit points of Level 2 major core subjects
- 12.5 credit points of Level 3 major core subjects
- 12.5 credit points of Level 3 major elective subjects
- 12.5 credit points of capstone subject

Arabic Studies Entry Point 1
Foundation subjects
A Major begins at second year. Each discipline has one or more first-year Foundation subjects which provide excellent preparation for the Major. Please note that the Level 2 language subjects in this Major require the completion of two first-year discipline Foundation language subjects as a pre-requisite.
