Structure
200 credit points
All required compulsory, foundation core selective and capstone subjects must be completed to be eligible to graduate from the program.
200 point program
Duration: 2 years full-time /up to 4 years part-time
Students entering this specialisation under the 200 point program will need to complete:
- 25 credit points of compulsory subjects
- 12.5 credit points of Foundation selectives (must be taken in the first 100 points of the program)
- 25 credit points of Capstone subjects
- 137.5 credit points of Elective subjects including
For students with an ESL background:
- Between 87.5 and 137.5 credit points of Graduate Elective subjects
- A maximum of 37.5 credit points of Foundation Elective subjects that must be taken in the first 100 points of the program
- A maximum of 12.5 credit points of ESL Elective subjects
For students without an ESL background:
- Between 100 and 137.5 credit points of Graduate Elective subjects
- A maximum of 37.5 credit points of Foundation Elective subjects that must be taken in the first 100 points of the program
Note:
Students may choose not to take Foundation Elective subjects and select only from the Graduate Elective list.
Capstone Stream 1: LING90010 Minor Thesis (25 points)
Purpose: An opportunity to integrate knowledge and research skills within the TESOL specialisation
Capstone Streams 2: LING90041 Projects in Applied Linguistics (25 points)
Purpose: An opportunity to integrate knowledge and skills from the TESOL specialisation to real-world projects
