Overview
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this specialisation students should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the values and philosophy of the IB Diploma Programme within the school context;
- Critically examine the IB Diploma Programme's underpinning educational principles and how these are incorporated into the curricular structure to create meaningful learning experiences;
- Critically analyse the role of the IB programmes within a broader education landscape;
- Plan and construct programmes of learning that incorporate IB Diploma Programme standards and practices and address the objectives of the relevant subject specific and core element;
- Identify and critique the key areas of commonality and difference in the three IB programmes;
- Design learning activities and develop teaching strategies that support the achievement of IB Diploma Programme learning objectives to meet the needs of all students;
- Demonstrate their understanding of the role that different forms of assessment play in supporting the achievement of IB Diploma Programme learning objectives; and
- Undertake critical evaluation of planning, teaching and assessment activities, and learning resources to assess their impact on student learning and where necessary revise their IB Diploma Programme practices.
