Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this course, students should have:
- an awareness of pronunciation and its role in communication;
- improved clarity and comprehensibility of their own speech;
- an ability to edit their own writing for accuracy and style;
- an awareness of grammatical structures in workplace writing;
- an awareness of cross-cultural differences in communication;
- improved cross-cultural communication skills;
- the ability to analyse written workplace discourses; and
- the ability to adapt their own writing to different professional contexts.
Generic skills
On completion of this course, students should have:
- acquired enhanced transferable reading, writing, speaking and intercultural skills; and
- improved the scope of their employment options and professional advancement.
