This course is delivered and assessed wholly online.
This course is delivered across six online terms per year whereby students typically enrol in one 12.5 credit point subject per online teaching term. This equates to a full-time study load of 0.75 EFTSL (equivalent full-time student load) per year. Please note, the course duration listed is based on a study load of 1 EFTSL – duration will vary for students taking a lesser study load and/or with advanced standing.
The Master of Cyber Security provides students with a comprehensive understanding of cyber security principles, practices, and technologies preparing them for leadership roles in cyber security.
Throughout the course, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills essential for success in the cyber security field. They will learn to analyse and evaluate cyber security threats, develop and implement comprehensive cyber security strategies, and communicate complex concepts and solutions to diverse stakeholders.
Students are introduced to foundational subjects of cyber security that cover core concepts and principles of cyber security, programming, data analytics and data management, network and system security and software security. They progress to specific topics including digital forensics, web security, machine learning applications in security, and database systems and data modelling.
Students select a capstone project experience or a research pathway across two final subjects. This experience provides opportunities for application in industry or research contexts and is contextualised by formal reflections.
This course is not available to international students who are holders of an Australian student visa, for study onshore in Australia as this is not a registered CRICOS course. This course is available to all other international students to study wholly online
