Research proposal report, incorporating a literature review 5000 words Hurdle requirement: Must achieve a minimum mark of 50% to proceed to the next part of the research project.	Due at the end of the teaching period the first semester of the project	15%
Initial oral presentation on the proposed research 10 – 15 minutes presentation, plus 5 minutes Q&A 20 minutes Hurdle requirement: Must be delivered to proceed to the next part of the research project.	Due at the end of the teaching period in the first semester of the project	5%
Thesis- Research project report 15000 words Hurdle requirement: Must achieve a minimum mark of 50%	Due at the end of the teaching period in the final semester of the project	60%
Final oral presentation 15 – 20 minutes presentation, plus 10 minutes Q&A 25 minutes Hurdle requirement: Must achieve a minimum mark of 50%	During the examination period in the final semester of the project. Must be delivered after Thesis submission.	20%
Research project progress review. Attendance at supervisory meetings and sufficient progress achieved in research project. Assessed by supervisor. Hurdle requirement: Must achieve satisfactory progress Pass/fail	Due at the end of any intermediary semester during the research project (not the first or final semester).	N/A
