This yearlong subject provides Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Implants) students with the opportunity to learn the essential skills needed to undertake research. In addition, students will gain first-hand experience in experimental design, and in data collection, analysis, and presentation. Students will undertake a literature review, a research report and an oral presentation.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Conduct research in biomedical, dental and health sciences.
- Design experiments.
- Prepare and give oral and written presentation of the results.
- Express intellectual and scientific arguments.
- Assimilate and critically evaluate existing knowledge within a scientific program.
- Prepare and submit the research data in manuscript format.
