This subject will equip students to adapt and reframe their skills and knowledge as theatre-makers and integrate these skills into new creative contexts. Students will continue practical classes in Voice and Movement, expanding their skills in working with text, devising practice and collaboration, dramaturgy and direction.
Students will apply their technical skills in performance to tasks in composition and build flexibility and adaptability as autonomous theatre-makers. In applying technical knowledge to generate creative tasks, students will extend their performance, devising, dramaturgical skills and collaborative practice, and deepen their aptitude in reflective practice.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- adapt and apply theatre-making skills to autonomous creative tasks;
- integrate detailed performative choices into self-authored creative tasks;
- analyse and evaluate performance processes and devising methodologies;
- apply, sustain and evaluate professional working ethos in autonomous and collaborative work and in communication with staff, industry and peers.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- develop and implement innovative and creative ideas;
- employ a wide range of idea creation techniques;
- respond openly and imaginatively to new ideas;
- give and receive constructive feedback.
