This subject synthesises students’ theatre-making and performance skills in devising processes and methodologies. Students continue practical classes including Voice and Movement, Text and Performance, and Dramaturgy.
Throughout the final semester, students are encouraged to identify their own autonomous creative process in preparation for the graduation of independent and resilient artists with the capacity to sustain and maintain their practice.
Students will refine their training, performance and theatre-making methodology established over three years of technical classwork and training.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- synthesise and apply theatre-making skills and approaches in autonomous performance-based tasks;
- design a theatre-making workshop for use and application as an independent artist in an applied context;
- design performance warm-ups for individuals and groups demonstrating knowledge of best practice;
- apply and sustain a professional working ethos in independent and collaborative work and in communication with staff, industry and peers.
Generic skills
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- give and receive constructive feedback;
- integrate personal reflection into the creative process;
- develop and implement innovative and creative ideas;
