The nature and behaviour, and appropriate repair and conservation, of the materials of historic buildings, including stone; clay products; mortars; plasters and renders; timber; and metals.
Intended learning outcomes
Students who have successfully completed this subject should:
- Be able to recognise architectural materials;
- Diagnose deterioration mechanisms; and
- Propose solutions for their repair and conservation.
