This subject investigates the codified Modern Dance training techniques. In practical sessions students will learn the fundamentals of particular vocabularies such as the Graham and Cunningham techniques. The focus will be on analyzing the value of drawing from these codified techniques when teaching Contemporary Dance technique classes. Historical and contextual information relating to the innovators behind these forms will also be studied.
