Image researching, referencing and making, in new and existing forms. A series of presentations and self-directed animation project-related research. This subject includes an embedded program in academic literacy skills of analysis, discussion, essay writing, research and information retrieval.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this subject students should be able to:-
- Gather, critique and contextualise relevant references;
- Demonstrate basic requirements of academic writing.
Generic skills
On completing this subject students will be able to:-
- Construct and investigate a proposition;
- Write analytically;
- Sort and sift material to reach something specific.

Practical Project (30 second animated sequence or equivalent) (20%);
Research Progress Report (1 x 15 minute presentation or equivalent) Mid Semester (20%);
Research Report (1,500 words or equivalent) End of Semester (50%);
Workshop Participation* (10%).
*Participation assessed on criteria of engagement, ability to discuss & give/receive feedback and teamwork skills.
Hurdle Requirements
Students must attend 80% of all scheduled classes and attempt all elements of assessment to be eligible for a pass in this subject.
