Screen Practice 2B further develops skills attained in Screen Practice 2A and other Level Two -Semester One work, including more in-depth pre-production work, more sustained shooting periods and further work on dialogue recording and editing. The subject offers students an opportunity to consolidate skills learned via the production of a short motion picture production that each student will write and produce from concept to completion. Students also crew for other students in areas such as camera, lighting, production management, continuity & assistant directing.
Intended learning outcomes
On completing this subject students will be able to:
Demonstrate a greater understanding of the role leadership plays in guiding productions from concept to completion
- Consolidate their understanding of dialogue recording and editing,
- Demonstrate more advanced practical filmmaking skills including direction of actors, cinematography, sound recording and editing, production management, assistant directing and other fundamental principles of filmmaking;
- Confidently apply production techniques to express screen-based ideas over longer time frames;
- Demonstrate enhanced creative and technical production skills;
Generic skills
On completing this subject students will be able to:
- Advance their ability to communicate in visual form;
- Plan and organise their work and solve problems;
- Show increasing levels of initiative, leadership and collaboration;
- Lead a team and work collaboratively;
